Cain and John

Posted September 13th, 2009 by admin

The reviews are in for His Fairy Tale. And I couldn’t be more tickled pink… except for after I reread what I have for the story, in which case I only wonder how such a creation could have been spawned from my fingertips.

Cain and John. Love it (understatement).

Calamitynexus said that her “only negative comment is that I am angry that I didn’t think of it first”. My psychology of Cain was spot on. Also that she loves CainxJohn (me too!). Well, and there’s other reviews. Which all kind of lead back to: you should write more.

I know, I really should. And I really, really want to. But like I said above, I don’t even know how I even created such a magnificent piece of literature in the first place. I’ve tried to continue writing it, but it’s just not on. The planets are not aligned. (Although speaking of planets and alignment, I should look up that poem about angels watching a play as the gears of the planets move — it’s an AP English sort of thing).

But I will try. If only for myself… and my dreams. And is that someone singing upstairs?

A Stargate Atlantis/The Sundering crossover might not be so strange afterall. Afterall, you have the house of Altorus, who marries into the Ellylon, to produce half-Ellylon off-spring that have magical powers… Then you have a race called the Alterans, who evolve to have magical powers… Who go through the universe seeding galaxies… which could also be known as shaping…

My mind works in interesting ways.

Speaking of Stargate Atlantis, when is the movie going to come out?

Lolcats attack Atlantis

Posted August 18th, 2009 by admin

Hmm, this Lolcat idea could go either way.

The Lolcats would have been dead useful at the end of Season 2 when the wraith hacked Atlantis’s database through a virus… Oh, and when the wraith uploaded a virus onto the Daedalus… Oh, and when the Replicator ghosts invaded the computers…

Or, the Lolcats invade Atlantis… and much more successfully than Kolya ever managed.

My big ticket pennies

Posted August 18th, 2009 by admin

The other day, I found in my pocket two remarkable pennies — one from 1946 and one from 1959. The picture of a king tipped me off to the 1946 one, and I thought that it must be a foreign coin. But no, at one point, there was a king that was on a Canadian coin. The 1959 one I found after, tipped off by the very lovely and young picture of Queen Elizabeth. So I thought that maybe I could make some money off of it…

Perhaps. A few cents to a couple of dollars. Not bad for a couple of pennies, is it? Unfortunately, eBay is already selling these with little success, so I guess they are going to continue in my pocket.

On another note, I wonder what Stargate Atlantis would be like with Lolcats. The Lolcat would be the hero, of course, with Rodney ranting furiously and jealously about letting cats just play around with Atlantis’s systems (and pretty much do his job).

And when Atlantis inevitably goes haywire?

The wraith have invaded Buffalo Days!

Posted August 4th, 2009 by admin

So, my cousin invited me out to Buffalo Days on Saturday. I probably would have hesitated if I knew that she didn’t mean going on the rides, but to go see the Jonny Reid concert. That’s not to say that he’s that bad… Just not how I like to spend my Saturday nights.

However, Jonny Reid does greatly resemble human Michael from Stargate Atlantis (and even a bit of Wraith Michael).

But since he’s incredibly Scottish, I think it’s just a coincidence. Oh, and my cousin was like this H close to him earlier that day. She was so excited. I don’t know who wouldn’t know now.

Roller Derby at Pile o’ Bones

Posted July 28th, 2009 by admin

Regina Roller Derby Summer Smackdown I went to Roller Derby on Saturday. Did you know that Regina has its very own Derby club? I do now. And it’s very punk — but I’ve come to understand that this is the new derby clothing style — fishnets and everything.

I would like to try it. It looks like fun — and very competitive, but in a way that allows my competitive spirit to become very violent. Of course, I’d probably only want to compete in the novice bouts, because that’s more wiping out because you lost your balance and less wiping out because you just got body slammed. I’m a little too petite for that (and I probably couldn’t body slam anyone else — at least not without hitting the floor myself). Unfortunately.

Our club here seems to be among the most fortunate clubs in Canada in terms of naming — Pile O’ Bones seems to be an appropriately violent and yet already well-known nickname for Regina.

His Fairy Tale

Posted July 20th, 2009 by admin

You know what’s really freaking amazing? On FF.N, I’ve logged nearly 150,000 words on FF.N. In A Year Like None Other terms, that’s almost a fifth of the way through. Wow…

Anyway, I didn’t get Cruel Moon done… or started, at any rate. But I did find a magical gem on my computer, which I’m almost 80% sure I wrote. It’s CainxJohn, from Godchild and Stargate Atlantis, and I love it. I couldn’t sleep last night — which serves me right for reading it right before bed. I wrote it a year ago, and I didn’t quite remember what it is. Thus, the 80%.

So, here:

His Fairy Tale

It’s also strange to consider that I still get hits on my stories, when I haven’t published anything on ff.n for a year. I’m moderately well-known!

Must write

Posted July 15th, 2009 by admin

I should be happy, it’s my birthday tomorrow and I sort of made progress on my website. I want to have the category image show on subcategory pages — but I don’t know how. I’ll put that on the back burner. Tomorrow (and I saw this every night I spend working on this thing) I will work on writing and not the website. Because really, what’s more important, the website to display my writing or the actual writing?

Ah, I’m just not used to having a website anymore. Otherwise, I’d be completely ignoring it, like usual.

I’m going to spend the next week writing, instead of the website. Then maybe I’ll have interesting content for people to actually come here to see. Wierd, eh? Oh, and maybe I’ll work on Cruel Moon. Despite not having updated for more than a year, it’s still as popular as all my other fanfiction combined. Now that’s weird.

I just get scared of epics. That I won’t be able to make them great enough — gripping enough — thrilling enough — totally anticlimatic.

Finished the website

Posted July 11th, 2009 by admin

Okay, I think that I’ve finally finished this website. Finally, eh? Now I should — hopefully — concentrate on actual writing. Ah, well first, I have to finish uploading content to the writing and story sections. I have Rivals up, and will make an official announcement for it after I announce the website.

I also have Chigo and Shota up as a start for the Japanese mythology. Hopefully I’ll be able to soon put together some more… uh… normal articles up. But knowing me… I’ll just hope for the best.

I’m also going to upload the first chapter to my novel, Burning Ashes, which I hope to publish. I just need to get an image that I want to use off of my old laptop first.

And then before I actually announce this website, I want to get the domain issue all worked out. Because, surprise, after much thought, I’m actually going to pay for a domain. Hurray!
